Where to with “Going Places” and what is there to do near Eilat? Around 30 km north of Eilat is Timna Park – a valley that covers some 60 square kilometers.

This is fantastic geological window to landscape formations containing iron, copper and manganese, sculpted by Mother Nature for thousands of years. They each have their own unique formation.

While exploring the park, you’ll come across ancient sites, unique natural phenomena and have the possibility to participate in exciting activities for the whole family.

Interesting fact: Did you know that Timna is the site of the world’s first copper mine? Until this very day you can see thousands of ancient mining shafts throughout the vast park.

More in the park: Solomon’s Pillar, The Mushroom, The Arches, Hathor’s Temple, Tabernacle Tent, Chariot Hill, The Sphinx, Timna Oasis, The Canyon of Faces, and more.

Timna Park also offers various option for accommodation, and during vacations and holidays also special nightly park programs like lanterns tours for the whole family, sunset tours that include a theatrical show, and Starry Nights which includes lodging in the camping area and more. Make sure to call ahead for reservations.
